It’s really simple

livelyfish was created as a simple way to meet with other people at events in your local area. We are all about people enjoying themselves with others – some they know & some they don’t (yet).

It all works by simply making it easy for groups of people to get together with others at events in their local area. People are able to go out as part of the livelyfish crowd – confident there will be someone there that they know.

As more and more people get involved, livelyfish becomes an ever better way for people to get out and enjoy themselves, doing the things they like to do, with other people.

How livelyfish works

The whole thing is done simply and easily without too much effort.

1. We list on this website events that are happening in your local area. livelyfish operates mainly by people telling us about events they are going to (or would like to go to) and covers a wide range of events in a broad area.
2. If you give us your email address we will keep you up to date about upcoming livelyfish events via email.
3. We try to make sure there is a host at each event and list their first name & phone number along with the event. These wonderful people volunteer to help make it as easy as possible for others, especially newcomers, at events.
4. You refer others to this website or forward them our emails to tell them about livelyfish and upcoming events.
5. You and others tell us if they will be attending an event and we let everyone know who will be going via a Who’s Going list for each event.
6. You and others turn up at the event and have a great time.

What we do, how we do it and why

Here at livelyfish our aim is to simply to help people to meet with others at events in their local area.

livelyfish is completely free to users and supported mostly by volunteers. There is no official membership or any fees applicable or anything like that – it’s all really, really simple.

It’s just a great way to get out and about doing the things you like to do with other people. For people that are new to the area it’s also a brilliant way to meet people.

livelyfish is not only for singles (though they have shown most interest so far) – couples and families are also welcome to use livelyfish to meet others with similar interests at events in their local area. Many of the events are a mixture of single people and couples.

With livelyfish you don’t have to go out alone

livelyfish works by making it easy for groups of people to get together with others at events in their local area. People are able to go out as part of the livelyfish crowd – confident there will be someone there that they know.

Women in particular say they are more able to go out to places alone because they know that someone they know from livelyfish will be there. They don’t need to rely on friends & instead can use the Who’s Going list to look for names of other livelyfish people they know.

Going out in a group also brings the opportunity to meet new people. It’s dead easy because people just introduce any new people to the others in the livelyfish crowd.

High quality events in your local area

We have a reputation for listing many of the best events in our local area each and every week. livelyfish operates mostly by people telling us about events they are going to or would like to go to in their local area. Through this we are able to tap into a wealth of local knowledge and cover a wide range of events in a broad area.

We try to provide a range of events covering a wide range of people’s interests – dancing for dancers, walks for walkers … and parties for party animals. In addition our local editor only lists events that people using livelyfish are likely to be interested in.

Our credibility is important to us. We only list events which are primarily about people enjoying themselves with others. We don’t list events which are primarily about people selling you anything or you learning something.

Everyone and anyone can host an event

Everyone and anyone is very welcome to use this website to host events that interest them – in fact many people, organisations and other groups are already doing just that.

The range of events is only limited by people’s imagination and their willingness to act as a host for the event. Our only requirements are that the event is primarily about people enjoying themselves with others, likely to be interesting to people using livelyfish & meets a MA+15 classification.

It’s very simple – just send us an email at thefish@livelyfish.com with the basic info for the event and and we’ll look at adding your event to the website.
